On November 15th, Cindy Houlden was presented her Paul Harris Fellowship award from District Foundation Chair, Frank Sibert.

During the week of 18-24 October, the Kearney Noon Rotary Club had 7 club members participate in a special fund raising initiative of the Rotary Foundation.  During this week these members contributed a total of $1,430 towards PolioPlus through the Rotary Foundation website.  These contributions resulted in one new Paul Harris Fellow - Cindy Houlden.  In addition, the following members have reached new Paul Harris Fellowhship milestones: Yvonne Deyle (PHF+1) and Tom York (PHF+2).

Total online contributions for PolioPlus during this week totaled
approximately $2.8 million.  The results represent a significant increase in online donations. To compare, $660,000 in online donations to PolioPlus were made from January to September 2010.

As of 27 October, Rotarians have raised about $150 million for Rotary's US$200 Million Challenge. These contributions will help Rotary raise $200 million to match $355 million in challenge grants from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The resulting $555 million will directly support immunization campaigns in developing countries, where polio continues to infect and paralyze children, robbing them of their futures and compounding the hardships faced by their families.

Thanks to Cindy and others who participated in this effort.
